In '06, Austin Homes Sales Sizzled
The Austin American-Statesman recently published data regarding the booming local real estate market. Statistics for December determined that "single-family home sales were higher than during the same period in 2005". Considering that 2005 was itself a record year, and that 2006 sales were 10 percent higher, this affirms that Austin Real Estate is in an upward spiral. In addition, homes were on the market 4 percent fewer days, making them the quickest selling since 2001.
Best October Ever for Central Texas Real Estate
The Austin American-Statesman recently reported that Austin home sales are still running high. In October, sales were tallied at "2,075 single-family homes sold - up 8 percent from the approximately 1,920 sales last year. October’s median price set a monthly record at $175,000, an increase of 9 percent from approximately $160,500 posted a year ago."
Further, the number of new listings increased by 12 percent since last year, and the average sale prices have increased by 18 percent.
