My name is Scott Smallwood. I live in beautiful Tallahassee, Florida with my wife Ginny and our two children, Andy and Katie.
I am very passionate about relationships – having them, growing them, healing them. This passion has seen me as a YMCA CEO, parish pastor, hospital and hospice chaplain, and counselor. The fact that I have a servant’s heart has brought me wonderful opportunities to serve others, as well as given me the ability to support my two other favorite causes: the homelessness of people and animals. My role as counselor has also led to my certification to work with couples in crisis and those planning to marry.
Away from service work, my priority lies in my family. I enjoy supporting my children in their pursuits, although they tire of my teaching and have learned to tune me out. Andy, at sixteen, has a $500.00 pick-up truck, a part-time job, iPhone and thinks he has the world by the tail. Katie, aged fourteen, has discovered her innate passion for fashion. Unfortunately, her pocketbook is currently unable to support her taste in the latest styles and fads. Both are wonderful children, do very well in school, have a good group of friends and bring us exceeding joy.
Ginny and I enjoy landscaping and expressing ourselves through the use of color in our home and yard. We often spend our evenings enjoying the wide variety of social and cultural activities that come from living in a university town.
I personally love to engage in physical activity of all kinds. I swim, but I also love to bike or walk around the town and enjoy the sights. My bookshelves are filled with biographies and self-help books, and I continually buy more of both. I love to see live music, and find myself drawn to the music of the 1950s and ‘60s. I quote The Beatles with some regularity, and can surprise you with a fact or two that you probably never wanted to know.
Growing up, I experienced both the wonderful love of family and the pain of losing my father at a young age. Having worked my way through the abandonment and loss, I’ve turned to helping others with similar experiences. I can fully understand what it’s like to be “in the pit,” no matter what circumstances have sent you there, and my story is not that different from yours.
I have found that in helping people reach their own personal goals, I am fulfilling my own goals as well and my goal is to enable you to become the best individual you can be, and eliminate the barriers that prevent you from achieving your dreams!
Dedicated To Your Continued Success,
