is to be found out, a HTTP request is sent
by the monitoring software for a page from
time to time. A test message is sent with
the help of SMTP and is recovered using POP3
or IMAP in case of an email server.
Although measurement in terms of reliability
and consistency is gaining popularity, the
way a system performs is often measured by
way of availability or uptime and the response
time .Whenever an accurate measurement of
response time is required the Wan optimization
devices stand as a disadvantage by limiting
the round trip visibility which in turn affects
the network monitoring tools.
When the request is not accepted the Monitoring
system springs into action when a document,
message or desired data cannot be got back
as its time out due to the connection being
broken or not being able to get established.
The design of the Network Monitoring system
depends upon the action which varies from
fault to fault. All the supervisors or the
residents are informed by the system in a
proper way and there is activation of failover
system automatically in order to keep aloof
the server which is giving problem till it
is repaired. The Network Traffic measurement
is used to do the Performance of Network uplink.
In order to check the HTTPS, SNMP, SMTP, TELNET,
SSL, TCP, HTTP pages, FTP, POP3, IMAP, SSH,
DNS ping and with the help of different other
ports which vary in range monitoring services
for a website is used. In an interval which
varies from a minute to an hour the services
of the server is checked regularly.
All round the world like Australia, Europe,
Asia and America have large number of servers
which provide Monitoring services. As because
of this large number of servers in various
places, the monitoring service easily comes
to know whether there is any web server throughout
various networks in the world. In order to
have a clearer picture about websites accessibility
the number of locations has to be increased.
